Chinese Welfare Worker
The Chinese Welfare Worker is based at Springvale Community Aid and Advice Bureau every Thursday, 9.00am - 5.00pm.
Federation of Chinese Association (Vic) Inc. Social Welfare Centre (FCA)
The Federation of Chinese Associations (Vic) Inc. Social Welfare Centre is a community organisation established in 1980 by the Federation of Chinese Associations (Vic) Inc., an umbrella body representing 23 Chinese organisations in Victoria.
The centre is currently funded by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, managed by the Committee of Management of the Federation of Chinese Associations (Vic) Inc. to provide:
- settlement services to Chinese people in Victoria, especially new migrants
- assisting migrants in understanding their rights and obligations as Australian citizens or residents and
- assisting Chinese migrants to integrate into Australia's Multicultural society.
About Our Services
Our centre is coordinated and serviced by fully qualified bilingual Social Workers, who are employed to provide free and confidential services. These services are usually offered in the forms of:
- Case Work
- Seminars and Group Activities
- Information and Referral Services
- Individual and Family Services
- Community Education and Development Projects
